MYP GCP

A graduating requirement of the MYP at BIS is that students participate in service learning activities, either as scheduled lessons at school or as student initiated projects outside of school hours.  Below is the link for the BIS MYP GCP Student Handbook, which contains detailed information about the programme.

GCP Planning – At the beginning of the school year you will need to submit a google form to your GCP teacher supervisor to ensure that you underrstand the requirements of the programme and that you plan adequate GCP activities.  The following word document has the questions that you need to answer.

Below is the claim form that you need to complete and submit to claim GCP credits.  It includes the MYP GCP Activity Assessment Rubric, which your activity supervisor must fill out.  A bahasa Indonesia version is also below.  See videos below for some example of how an activity supervisor completes these forms.  SAVE PAPER please print your claim forms on both sides of the paper.

Here is a document that contains examples of how to fill out the SAL, SEF and a total credits table. Please use this model when you are uploading your GCP information into googledocs.

To assist in the monitoring of your MYP GCP activities and also to help create your GCP Semester Report, you will need to upload the document below into googledocs (or create new from template) and then invite your GCP teacher supervisor and GCP Secretary Ibu Mila to collaborate on.   You can find the BIS Googledocs icon on all school computers.  To go to BIS Googledocs on your laptop or home computer, type in https://docs.google.com/a/baliis.net/#all

MYP GCP SAL & SEF Upload to googledocs

The template of this file would be the easiest way to create your GCP self-report – click on “create new” then choose “From Template”.  The name of the template is GCP Self-Report form (SAL, SEF, Credits).

Towards the end of the semester, you will need to submit completed claim forms and complete relevant information in your googledocs GCP file.   This information will be used to create your semester report, and assess if you successfully completed the graduation requirements of the course.  Details of the procedures that you will need to follow to submit your GCP paperwork for this Semester’s report are in this document.

Below is the proposal form we used for our timetabled GCP projects.  You can also use this proposal form for your own individual or group projects, not only to help with your planning but also as a document that you could submit to seek approval for activities you wish to conduct at school as a part of your GCP project.
